The M* Bloggersnacker Details

Attention all M* readers–commentators and silent lurkers:

As previously mentioned,

You, your family, and your fiends are invited to The Millennial Star Bloggersnacker, this Friday, August 12th, at 7:00pm at Rock Canyon Park in Provo, Utah. The Park is located a few blocks north-east of the Provo Temple, right up against the foothills.

Click here to view google’s map and to get driving directions from your own address. Once you get to 2600 Foothill Dr, turn right into the park and look for a makeshift sign reading “Lemonade 25¢”…or maybe just “M*”.

  • Please bring a potluck dish sufficient for the number of people in your party for the ‘snacker (no assignments, emphasis on the “luck”).
  • Please feel free to bring your children along. There are playgrounds and my puppet troupe will provide an informal performance.
  • Remember to bring your digital cameras, your wit, your smiles, and your food.
  • No RSVP required. If at 6:57pm on Friday you suddenly decide to come, please do.

Offer void where prohibited by law, good taste, or small-minded bureaucrats named Elmo.

  1. Wish I could come – I would love to catch up with friends & fam & get acquainted with the rest of you:) I am guessing Ben will be there & he’ll have to represent me by proxy.

  2. I’m especially sad that my kids and I will miss the puppet show. Have a good time, you guys!

  3. Oh come on guys, hop on a plane. It’s worth it :-). I want to meet you all! (Well, Erin I’ve already met… but I’d love to visit with you more!) If only someone would invent a Star Trek-like transporter…

  4. Tanya – but what if you meet all these people in real life, and you find that you have nothing in common with anyone and have nothing to say to them? Maybe you should bring your laptops along with a wireless connection and resort to blogging to each other if the conversation lapses. 🙂

  5. Crystal, definitely!! Sadly, I don’t foresee heading to Boston anytime soon, but if you happened to come out here, that would be very cool. I really would like to meet you in a three-dimensional way.

  6. Elisabeth, the image that creates in my mind is quite humorous. And it was easy to picture, which is disturbing…

  7. I’m planning on going. Two things:

There’s three of us, if we bring a really big watermelon, is that enough?

Can I bring my own puppet?

  8. Watermellom Yes.

Puppet — yes, if you agree to do a silly faux-pakistani accent too.

  9. So how’d it go? No one ever talks about these things after. Who were the first two people to arrive, and did they probably not know each other that well and have to make uncomfortable small talk until other people got there? Did anyone meet someone you previously imagined as attractive but discovered they’re really hideously ugly? Who was the first person to get the bright idea to roll down the hill? (someone always does it)

  10. Yeah, I’m with Eric. I want to know what you’re all like, that just sounds like so much fun. I would love to meet you guys.

    Maybe next year…

  11. I was surprised how good-looking everyone was. Seriously, I felt like I was walking into a supermodel convention. And sexy too, everyone was very sexy, and uninhibted! Who was that drunk guy?

Jonathan Max Wilson gave a great puppet show which included a reinvention of the Red Riding Hood myth with a Big Bad Chicken instead of a Big Bad Wolf. Not only that but there was a crowd-pleasing send up of Yankee Doodle Dandy that had all the kids young and old in stitches. Two thumbs up. Five stars. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks for putting it together, M-stars.

  12. ‘Twas fun! Bees really like Ben, and I got eaten alive by mosquitos (bring on the West Nile virus), but it was worth it for a few good hours of chatting and gossip. We found out all kinds of juicy stuff, like… wait, you’ll have to come to the next one to find out ;-).

As Brian said, Jon and friend (ack! my apologies for the forgetting of name) put on a hilarious puppet show. The kids and adults loved it.

It was fun to have three-dimensional interactions with M* folks and family.
