So, my wife is pregnant. Yes, I know, I am way, way, WAAY too old to be having another newborn. But it still is a wonderful thing.
Except for that sympathy morning sickness. I mean, doesn’t the Bible say Eve is supposed to suffer during childbirth, not Adam (Gen. 3:16)? I have been traveling for a week now, and I have had sympathy morning sickness all day long the whole time. Apparently there is no geographic limitation to this malady.
Everything I think about eating makes me feel sick. I mean, really, really sick, like I’m going to throw up. I have cravings for weird stuff, like ice cream and dry toast.
No, I don’t have the flu. I actually feel great, except for the constant feeling of nausea. No temperature, not even the sniffles.
So, next time somebody says women do all the suffering during pregnancy, you can tell them about poor, poor pitiful me. Oh, by the way, my wife is so sick she’s taking medication and can barely keep anything down. I hope you feel better, honey!
