Okay guys. The countdown begins!
One year from today, the Mayan calendar ends its current cycle. The beginning of this cycle began in 3114 BC. It is made up of smaller units called B’ak’tun, each being approximately 394 years in length. This is the end of the 13th B’ak’tun in the current cycle, which is when the calendar resets to zero, and there is a new creation.
So, What do you think will happen ? Will it be giant destruction? Will it open the door for a wonderful new paradise? Or will it just be another day with 4 shopping days to go until Christmas?
I don’t care what happens, I just want to see The Hobbit — which comes out 12-14-2012, and then I’ll be good for the end of the world festivites.
You forget, Joyce, that what will be released on 12-14-2012 is The Hobbit PART 1. It will end on a cliffhanger.
What about all the calendars that don’t end next year?
Too true….I guess we’ll just have to have a screaming on the other other side. I’m bringing chips…who’s bringing the caffiene?!
End of world won’t be till December, and that’s too late, because that means I still have to turn 40 this spring.
