You of the bloggernacle in New York, who wants a nice dress? REALLY nice? My cousin Colette has been featured in a newspaper, and one of those 18-pound bridal “magazines” (Modern Bride, I think) did a feature on her and her dresses late last summer (but it’s not online). Her website is not yet up and running, but looks nice.
What I found interesting about the New York Metro blurb is how her LDS-ness is played up (though misattributed. Once again, the “Jesus Christ” aspect has dropped out, leaving the “Church of Latter-day Saints”.) Granted, perhaps LDS clothing designers tend to be in Utah making 1920’s swimsuits instead of designing $4000 wedding dresses for NY fashion shows. In any case, New Yorkers take note. High-end, award-winning AND LDS-mother pleasing fashion has arrived.

How great is it that she’s highlighted?!? At least there wasn’t anything negative eh? I say as far as the fashion pendulum swings it’s about time it took a drastic swing back to modesty and showing less skin! She’s smart to go for wedding dresses if she widens it to affordable evening dresses too I’m already a huge fan
That’s actually a magazine, not a newspaper.
PS, to which M* contributor is Collette related?
Uh, that would be me, thanks. Collette’s on a different side of the family (Mom’s) than Tanya (Dad’s).
What does it say about me that I thought her three non-temple wedding gowns were far more spectacular than her three more modest exemplars? Other than that, like Nate Oman, I like shoulders?
Very nice! Pass along congrats for all of us Ben. It is very difficult to get noticed so quickly in the fashion world! Great job for Collette!
One l, folks.
Ms. Manners would be pleased–see her Guide to Excruciatingly Correct Behavior reviewed in this past Sunday’s NY Times Book Review.
Perhaps Ms. Komm can team up with Ms. Manners in marketing the gowns.
Talking about less skin: Its about time they moved childrens/youth fashion in a different direction – Is it just me or is a 5 year old wearing a bikini top and mini skirt just wrong?

Please pass along my thanks! I liked her phrase re: how MTV folks dress…a comment I make frequently myself, to much chagrin around me. lol…
All I can say is it’s ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE…you all have done a wonderful job, I’m thrilled!!!
Lets leave the flowers on the front off since they aren’t really going to be seen. I kind of like the simplicity of just the plain white w/the color around the bottom. She’s such a little girl I think simple is better. But I’m definitely satisfied the the decision to put the flowers on the back. And your idea to put both the chocolate/pink together was fabulous.. it’s beautiful!! And the little headband is great as well. It’s all just perfect!!
Thank you so much for all your help!
