This is an extremely well-done video.
Mormon Helping Hands responded to victims of Hurricane Sandy by donning their yellow vests and going to the affected neighborhoods to help out. I especially like that people went straight from Sacrament meeting to turn Jesus’ words into action.
Mosiah 4:16:
And also, ye yourselves will succor those that stand in need of your succor; ye will administer of your substance unto him that standeth in need; and ye will not suffer that the beggar putteth up his petition to you in vain, and turn him out to perish.

Well done video. Living in Louisiana has given me the chance to help with many hurricanes, and we’ve greatly appreciated members who have come from (relatively) far away to help out. Whenever I read other posts that criticize the church’s humanitarian efforts I think of things like this. Maybe the posters don’t live somewhere where they can take part in efforts like this, so they look to places outside of the USA as areas in need. However, there is plenty to do in America, and in our local neighborhoods and cities as well. We can’t all quit our jobs and leave our families to give out rice in Africa. Sometimes the best effort we can give is within the walls of our homes.
