This is a story in which this blogger finally got to see a three-person band and an enthusiastic Gospel choir in an LDS chapel. Thank heavens for Gladys Knight.
There is no doubt in my mind that Sister Knight has been called at this time to add her testimony to the many others out there. She may bring thousands if not tens of thousands to the Church.
They did this in Manhattan as well. It was amazing. A lot of people from outside the church were invited as it was a definite missionary outreach. It should seem obvious from her popular career, but hearing Gladys Knight sing in person is a powerful experience. She has an amazing gift.
Did you notice the allusion to Noel Reynolds of BYU, who is serving as a MP in Florida?
But really–songs not from the green hymnal? I think I just lost my testimony.
President Reynolds is a great, great mission president. He has gotten a lot of local press because of his BYU background and is doing a lot of good work down here.
Do you happen to know if there is a way to schedule one of these events for your stake? I didn’t know she did this, it sounds fantastic.
Veritas, the best thing to do is to work through your mission president. They usually know whom to contact.

(Gee, I am so sorry to have missed this…I was just down in South Florida last weekend; we always try to get down to the keys over the 4-day weekend, and went to church in Marathon.)
Nice article, Geoff.
I didn’t know you worked for the Arizona Repugnant! I’ll be sure to say hi to Steve Benson for you. 🙂
That was many moons ago.
I, too, wish we could have them come to our ward. My mission president isn’t too bright, I bet he has no clue. Can’t you guys post a link for this? Maybe I’ll ask them to come for Relief Society.
What an amazing event! That was a great article at Meridian.
