Congrats on your win over Pac-10 doormat Arizona. There is an even worse doormat, my team Stanford. We did our best to beat up UCLA a little bit today for you, and we only lost by four touchdowns. That’s my team!!! Anyway, you have us to thank if you beat UCLA next week. We will take any credit we can get.
I’m hoping my Sun Devils can put up a W tonight! Go Devils!!!
Arizona’s not exactly the doormat. They’re ranked somewhere in the middle of the PAC-10 in most preseason polls, one has them at #4. You’re right about Stanford though, doormats indeed.
Still, I was surprised Arizona didn’t play better. A big part of that was our frankly surprisingly fantastic defense. They exceeded my already high expectations although they did get a tad sloppy in those last few minutes of the game.
I’m very relieved my team didn’t lose to their I-AA opponent, unlike some people. I mean, gah.
(though I’m rather pleased the team in question is our traditional rival…)
Eric, believe it or not, we (Stanford) played better today than most games last year. We may get four or five wins out of this season, which would be progress under new Coach Harbaugh.
hmmmm… I wonder what the series record is between the zoobies and lowly Stanford…
Sarah, apparently the new wardrobe of choice for us Buckeyes is Mountaineer gear…
Re #6, a randon John probably already knew this, but the Stanford record vs. BYU is Stanford 2 wins, BYU 0 wins, according to this page:

But I’ll still be rooting for the zoobies today against UCLA. You can’t grow up in Northern California and root for LA teams.
Sic transit gloria mundi.
