One Year until the End of the World?

Okay guys.  The countdown begins!

One year from today, the Mayan calendar ends its current cycle.  The beginning of this cycle began in 3114 BC.  It is made up of smaller units called B’ak’tun, each being approximately 394 years in length.  This is the end of the 13th B’ak’tun in the current cycle, which is when the calendar resets to zero, and there is a new creation.

So, What do you think will happen ?  Will it be giant destruction?  Will it open the door for a wonderful new paradise?  Or will it just be another day with 4 shopping days to go until Christmas?

If You Want to Learn About a Ford (Mormonism) . . .

When heated discussions about Mormonism come up online with negative portrayals of theology, almost inevitably a Mormon will make what at first sounds like a reasonable request. They will ask as an analogy, If you want to learn about Ford vehicles, do you go to a Honda dealership? No, they will state. This will be followed by a request to ask a Mormon or, visit mormon.org, or lds.org websites for research. Not sure where this “meme” reaction came from. It isn’t a completely bad request, but it can be cringe worthy.

The problem is the phrasing and logic of the answer is not correct. When you want to learn about Ford vehicles, do you go to a Honda dealership? Well yes you will go to both if you want a good comparison in price and reliability. In fact, those looking for a car in general might go to a number of dealerships unless they have made up their minds already what kind of brand they hold loyalty or preference. Continue reading

Timeline for one of the underreported scandals of modern times

Feb. 25, 2009: Atty Gen. Eric Holder tells Congress that the new administration wants to reinstate the ban on assault weapons and says, “I think it will have a positive impact in Mexico at a minimum.”

March 26, 2009: Sect of State Hillary Clinton, speaking in Mexico, claims “90 percent” of guns used by drug cartels in Mexico come from the U.S.

April 16, 2009: At a press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, President Obama also uses the 90 percent number. Pressed to provide any evidence of the 90 percent number, the Obama administration cannot provide any, and the nonpartisan group Fact Check.org finds the number incorrect.

SNL Tebow skit

SNL finally did something with Tebow.  In the locker room after squeaking out a win, Jesus shows up and gives the team and Tebow some guidance.  At the end as he leaves, Jesus says, “By the way, Mormonism, all true. Every single word….”

Nails For Christmas! A Neighbor Gift Idea

 Our Love Is His Love

Christmas is about Christ. The day bares His name and should bring us closer to Him. It instills in our hearts a feeling of gratitude and reverence. Christ’s life was a gift to us. He lived for all of us, and died for all of us. Because of his gift, we give gifts at Christmas.

If you are like me, each gift you give at Christmas time has a meaning; a feeling of love wrapped up in it. My children give home made gifts of love which make me simultaneously smile and cry, because their love is so apparent in the gift. The more heart-felt the gift, the better it is.
