Random thoughts on conference so far
–BRAZIL! Yet another temple in one of the fastest-growing areas for the Church. Fortaleza is an important, large city in the north, and missionaries are baptizing there like crazy. Congratulations, Brazil!

Reflections on a Child’s Birthday
My youngest daughter and my oldest son each have a birthday later this month. The day before their birth we didn’t know them, but in one spectacular instant they each became as much a part of our family as my wife and I.
This experience of instant bonds and connections is unique to families. In any company, team, neighborhood or even church organization there is always a period of adjustment where you get to know others and they get to know you before you find your “niche”. Friday Forum: Genesis 11:6-9 “Confounding the Language of the Earth”
Discuss: Genesis 11:6-9
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
