Now that the nation’s unemployment rate is at 10.2%, M* is doing its part to spur economic recovery by adding another blogger to our team.
Joyce Brinton Anderson previously guest posted at M*, sharing the story of her missionary Christmas in Bulgaria.
I’m betting that Ben Pratt knows Joyce (he seems to have some connection with all of our newer M* bloggers), but I’m sure he doesn’t know that Joyce’s uncle was my scoutmaster. Take that, Ben!
Welcome, Joyce!
I don’t think I know Ben Pratt. Remind me of which of my many uncles (My Big Fat Mormon Family) was your scoutmaster? I know you told me once…
It was your uncle Cameron, the podiatrist. We did a lot of hiking and couldn’t get out of any hike. How can you feign injury with a foot doctor?? 😉
Welcome aboard!
Joyce, welcome to our happy family. I know Brian told you that you would be making $300k per year blogging on M*, but I’m sorry to inform you that due to the health care and cap and trade bills in Congress your salary has been dropped to zero. But you will receive an occasional attagirl and smiley face, which should be payment enough, right? 🙂
Welcome Joyce. Glad to have you onboard. Hey Ben, any relation to me https://www.millennialstar.org/rising-out-of-obscurity-sephardic-jews-and-the-lds-connection/ ?
Geoff….that’s ok, I’m still waiting for all the money the Bulgarian newspapers said I was supposedly making as a CIA operative while on my mission.
Brian, that’s right, you cannot get out of an Uncle Cameron hike. Even now, at age 36 with a child, I still have a hard time making excuses.
Whoa! You did it, Brian! I knew you could.
Joyce, it’s nice to meet you. It’s great to have you here!
Joanna, I’ve poked around in FamilySearch to make sure, but I can’t find those names that recently. I have a Smith family from New England, and maybe a Barney way back somewhere.
